March comes in like a LION & out like a MUSICAL!
In honor of Spring marching in, a preview of upcoming excitement in the world of Lakewood music and performing arts:
- Musicals!!!!! Garfield hits the stage THIS WEEK with “Mean Girls Jr.” LHS serves up the classic “Sweeney Todd” in April, followed by Harding rounding out the season with “Frozen Jr.”! Ticket and information can always be found on our Events page.
- Scholarships coming soon! Students will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships to help offset the costs camps and lessons over the summer, as well as audition-based ensembles in the Fall. Music Boosters make every effort to provide every applicant with some level of support- please be sure to join Music Boosters if you haven’t already. Members may be eligible for a greater scholarship level!
- Spring concerts are coming- Choral, Bands, Orchestras, the Lakewood Project!
In order to make all this awesome stuff happen, we need your help! Please donate an hour or two of your time to help take tickets or sell concessions- it’s easy, fun, and makes a big difference for our kids! PRO TIP: Since we all love to see our favorite performers on stage and not miss a minute, you’ll often find your social media editor taking tickets for the middle school, orchestra, or choir performances, since I don’t have a kid performing at those. Would you consider helping out one day when your favorite performer isn’t on stage? Your next opportunity is THIS SATURDAY! We are hosting the Middle School OMEA Solo and Ensemble! Come sling some World Famous Lakewood Hot Dogs for our guests! Please sign up here.
Hoping to give back even more to the music and performing arts programs you love so much? We are looking for folks to serve on the scholarship and nominating committees and/or the Board! These are great ways to learn more about music and performing arts education and support our amazing kids, teachers, and District. Please take a moment to complete the attached survey.
Thank you!
