Lakewood Legacies – Max Mulready
During my time at Lakewood High School, I enjoyed so many amazing experiences in the music program such as performing for (then vice-) President Joe Biden with the Lakewood Project, touring around Williamsburg, Virginia with the symphonic choir, and performing in the Tri-C High School Rock Off. After graduating from LHS in 2014, I earned a performance degree from the City College of New York – a BFA in Jazz Piano. Currently I am based out of NYC, releasing music under the band High Acres, and running my own company, Golden Hour Entertainment, which produces bands and other musical ensembles for private events. I got into live music production by doing gigs around the city for different agencies that booked bands on weddings and other private events. After experiencing some degree of frustration with the large cut these agencies were taking, I decided to start my own band and book gigs on my own, so that we could all take home our fair share of the profit. This led me to create my own production company through which I am able to book other bands and ensembles as well, with the priority focused on the well-being of the musicians. Some career highlights so far have been opening for Diana Ross at the St. Regis Hotel, performing in St. Barth’s, Anguilla, and Singapore, and releasing my own music that I recorded and produced on my own!
