DESCRIPTION:On October 25 from 12 – 3 PM\, students from our music and performing arts programs will take their “Feet to the Street” to thank our neighbors for their support\, and to invite them to attend a performance this year. This event also serves as a fundraiser for the Music Boosters\, which supports programs throughout the district. Make sure you sign up for the correct slot as either an adult chaperone or a student. \nMake sure you sign up for the correct slot as either an adult chaperone or a student. \nADULT CHAPERONES: check in and out of the Civic before/after your shift \n1. Check in at the Civic before your two hour shift begins to pick up materials (map\, brochures to distribute\, scripts for the students). Make sure you have enough time to be at the meeting location at the beginning of your shift.\n2. Meet your group of students at your designated meeting location and accompany them as they knock on the doors of our neighbors\, thanking them for their support\, and inviting them to join us at a performance. Collect donations if our community members choose to make one.\n3. At the end of your shift\, send the kids home and then stop by the Civic to drop off donations collected and any remaining materials (at the Civic there will also be yard signs available for a free will donation\, if you’d like to bring one home) \nRUNNER: \nBased at LHS\, ready to take extra flyers to a group\, or be on hand to for quick pickup. \nSTUDENTS: \nMeet your adult chaperone at the designated meeting location for your group\, walk your area safely and following instructions\, go home after your two hour shift. This annual fundraiser is in place of selling products at inflated prices. 100% of your donation goes to the students and the program. You may ask: “What do I get for my donation?” Well\, this year we are focused on providing: \n· professional musicians for sectionals\, \n· master classes with Cleveland’s premier orchestral musicians\, \n· private lesson scholarships\, \n. uniforms\, music\, accessories \n· NEW INSTRUMENTS for the program \nAll of the money raised goes to support all SIX orchestras at Lakewood High School as well as support the middle school and elementary orchestras. \nAppreciation through practice: The LHS orchestras will report to The Civic on Sat. Nov. 2nd at 6:00am and practice through the concert for a total of 13 hours of playing…. \nBut that is not all! You are invited to attend the “Dessert with the Arts” reception on Saturday\, November 2nd\, 2024 at 5:30pm in The Lakewood Civic Auditorium \nIf you donate $75 \, you can dedicate a song to someone special \nIf you donate $100 or more\, you are eligible to conduct the orchestra\, play with The Lakewood Project. \nIf you donate $500 have the Four Season String Quartet perform for 30 minutes \nIf you Donate $1000.00 a group of fiddlers will come and perform for your event for 30 minutes.
